The Federal Government clarified why, alongside Sambo Dasuki and Omoyele Sowore, the leader of the Nigerian Islamic Movement, Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, had not been released from custody.
Dasuki, former National Security Advisor, and Sowore, convenor of the #RevolutionNow Movement, were released from prison by the Department of State Services on Tuesday.
Yesterday, the Attorney General of the Republic and the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said that the Federal Government would not wish to intrude in the judicial process of the Kaduna State Government dealing with the case of El-Zakzaky.
The AGF said this in an interview with the BBC’s Hausa Service, which was monitored by our reporter. Malami said: “Today, the federal government will not intervene in a judicial process that is exclusively the responsibility of the state government to take care of…”
