β€œTwo suspected armed robbers have been allegedly killed by vigilantes on routine duty along Okwidjidjerhe road in Orerokpe Community, Okpe Local Government Area on Friday.

The Vigilante also recovered two AK-47 rifles from the suspects.

This is coming as one other suspect was said to have escaped from the scene of the incident.

It was learnt that the suspects, who had been terrorizing Oviorie-Ovu Community and its environs, were caught in their attempt to steal armoured cable in the area.

They opened fire when they saw the vigilante.

However, the vigilante promptly repelled the bullets and killed two of the suspects instantly.

Immediately, soldiers on guard duty at Oviorie-Ovu Community junction in Ethiope-East Local Government Area dashed into the crime scene and whisked the remains of the deceased suspects into their patrol van in search of the fleeing suspect.

The soldiers did not allow anyone to have a glimpse of the deceased suspects.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe in a telephone chat with our correspondent said he is not aware of the incident.
