Popular actor, Samuel Ajibola, also known as Spiff has announced he’s quitting hit TV show, The Johnsons.
The show, produced by Roger Ofime airs on Africa Magic and follows the life of an average Nigerian family. In a post shared on Twitter, Ajibola said it was time for him to move on from the show and thanked the fans that have supported him since the beginning.
“It’s difficult to let go but it’s time to officially announce on this platform as I quit my role as Spiff in The Johnsons. Thanks to everyone for your undying support and love,” he wrote.
“For about 10 years now, I have sacrificed my time, dedicated my life as well as the God given creativity within me to serving the Spiff character on ‘The Johnsons’ television series which for me has fulfilled its purpose in bringing entertainment, happiness and joy to the African continent,” the actor said on a post on Instagram.
About Samuel Ajibola
Ajibola started his acting career as a 6-year-old kid in 1995 with the film ‘Tears for Love’. He also had roles in Without Love, Shame, Eye-witness, Onome II, Conspiracy, Street Kids, and Day of Reckoning.
At the now-defunct Rhema Awards in 1996, he won the award for Best Kid Actor for his role in Eye-Witness. In 1997 and 1998, he also won the Best Kid Actor at the Reel Awards for Onome II and Day of Reckoning, respectively.

In March 2017, Ajibola won the Best Actor in a Comedy Award for the role of Spiff on The Johnsons at the 2017 AMVCA Awards. He also won the Comic Actor of the Year Award at the 2017 City People Awards in October 2017.
Samuel Ajibola has been a main character on The Johnsons since the show began airing in 2012.
He also starred in the 2018 movie Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons.
