Real Madrid Ready To Sell Hazard In Summer

LaLiga giants Real Madrid are now ready to offload Belgian flop Eden Hazard at the end of the season.

Hazard was signed for £90million back in the summer of 2019 from Chelsea with much expectation to lead Madrid on the pitch as their new star player.

But Hazard’s spell at the Bernabeu has been ruined by persistent fitness issues and injuries that have resulted in him not being able to either get a consistent run in the side or show his best form.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, the credit from fans and the club is starting to run out, although they have all but ruled out any form of departure in the January transfer window.

The report adds this is likely to be a personal reason, with Hazard’s wife Natacha Van Honacker expecting a fifth child that she wishes to have in the Spanish capital, while Hazard himself is still keen to prove his worth to the club.

Hazard’s former side Lille, who he left to join Chelsea in 2012, are the only side to have publicly shown interest in signing the Belgium star, who will be 31 years old in the summer and have just two years left remaining on his Madrid deal.

Lille president Olivier Letang was quoted by Sport as telling L’Equipe: “A return of Hazard to Lille? It is not impossible to see it here. I go to Spain if necessary. It may seem impossible.

“Obviously, Hazard is an incredible player with a lot of quality. Right now, he is a Real Madrid player and is under contract with Real Madrid every day.”

Newcastle United are thought to also be keeping tabs, although they will highly likely have to preserve their Premier League status by avoiding relegation to have a chance of signing him, while Juventus have been touted as another option.

Until then though, Hazard still has the opportunity to prove his worth at Madrid and he was given his first start in three months on Sunday against Cadiz in LaLiga.

However, Hazard failed to make the most of his opportunity which came about after a Covid crisis hit Madrid, with up to six players out for Los Blancos.

Arsenal reportedly remain keen to bring former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata back to England with Juventus unwilling to permanently sign the Atletico Madrid striker.

Morata, 29, has spent the last two years on loan with Juventus but the player has been deemed as too expensive by the Serie A giants.

And according to AS, Juve have already dolled out £17m on Morata’s two-year spell in Turin.

And Atletico are demanding £30m from Juve to turn Morata’s temporary stay into a permanent switch.

Juve are said to be unwilling to match their demands, and are only prepared to hand over a further £17m.

All signs point towards a return to the Wanda Metropolitano for Morata, who still has two years left on his contract in Madrid.

But it remains to be seen whether the player is in the plans of Argentine gaffer Diego Simeone.

As a result, the Spanish news outlet claims that both Arsenal and Barcelona are keeping tabs on his situation.

Barca were close to securing his services in January, only for Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri to block the transfer.

There have even been rumours that the Blaugrana and Atletico could look to swap Antoine Griezmann for Morata.

Former Leeds United defender Paddy Kenny believes Emmanuel Dennis will be a good addition to the West Ham United squad.

West Ham are reported to have held talks with Dennis’ representative last week regarding a potential move this summer.

The 24-year-old only joined Watford from Belgian Pro League club Club Brugge last summer.

The versatile forward scored 10 goals and recorded six assists in 33 league appearances for the Hornets.

Watford are said to be willing to sell Dennis following their relegation from the Premier League.

Kenny claims Dennis could be the perfect player to boost the Hammers’ attacking options.

“To get double figures in the Premier League is impressive,” Kenny told Football Insider.

“To get double figures in a pretty bad Premier League team that got relegated is even more impressive.

“He (Dennis) knows where the net is and I think he could be the perfect player to fill out the squad.

“That’s what they need because I think it cost them this season, they had a very thin squad for a team competing in Europe.

“Obviously they are in Europe again next season so they need a squad. A young lad with goals in him will be very useful.”

Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray have also reignited their interest in Dennis.
