Real Madrid Confirm Zidane’s Departure

Real Madrid have officially confirmed the departure of head coach Zinedine Zidane.

The Laliga giants made the announcement of Zidane’s exit in a statement released on their official website on Thursday.

There were reports making the rounds on Wednesday that the French legend has ended his second spell with the club.

Now Madrid have now come out to confirm Zidane’s exit.

“Madrid C. F. announces that Zinedine Zidane has decided to bring an end to his current spell as head coach of our club.

“We must now respect his decision and express our gratitude for his professionalism, dedication and passion over the years and what he means to Real Madrid.

“Zidane is one of Real Madrid’s great icons and his legacy extends beyond what he has achieved as a coach and player at our club.

“He is aware that he has a place in the hearts of the Real Madrid fans and that he will always have a home at Real Madrid.”

In his second spell as Madrid coach, Zidane led them to the Laliga title in the 2019/2020 season.

And in his first spell, he won the Champions League in three straight seasons (2016, 2017, 2018).
