Samson Bamgbose, the newly sworn-in chief of the People’s Democratic Party in Ogun State, said the party would snatch power from the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.
Bamgbose, who said this in Abeokuta, the capital of the Ogun State, at the inauguration of the new Executive Members of the Ogun PDPD, who will be leading the party’s affairs in the state for the next four years, urged Governor Dapo Abiodun of the APC to prepare the Government House for the PDP in 2023.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place at the Party Secretariat in Abeokuta, took place in batches of 15 persons and was administered by Mr Victor Owokoya and Oluwatoyin Omomehin, both lawyers and notary public.
The newly inaugurated executive also received cars from the Omo-Ilu Foundation sponsored by a former senator representing the Ogun East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu.
Bamgbose vowed that his administration would diligently deliver victory to the party in the coming elections.
Bamgbose, who was a former deputy chairman of the state, said, “My dream is to see the party back on track and maintain its place of victory in the state in the 2023 general election in the state. Our group is committed to delivering the next state government.
“I give thanks to Almighty God for giving me the grace to lead this party at this crucial time that I became the chairman of this great party, my vision is to see this party coming back into track.
“Few years ago, this party was managing this state; we produce the government, PDP was running the government, but along the line, something happened and it went off.
“So, for now, my primary aim is to bring the party back to the track, we want to be in the government, we want to produce the next government and we are producing the next government.”
