Ogun State Initiates Protective Glass box Testing Centre (Photos)

The Government of Ogun State has introduced the safe glass box that was recently introduced for state health employees to gather samples for COVID-19 research.

The glass box is a Research Facility for Walk-in & Drive-through located in Ijamido Town Hall, Ota.

According to a study undertaken by the State Ministry of Health, the safety glass case, the first of its kind in Nigeria, has the advantage of being durable against pathogens, unlike lightweight Personal Safe Equipment (PPEs) with gloves, which can place the geared worker at risk at the point of removal.

To ensure its effectiveness for collection officers against the possibility of contamination, the built-in hand gloves are disinfected after each sample is obtained by standby professional hygienists.

A number of suspicious patients were welcomed by the research centre, each of whom introduced themselves on fairgrounds.

Their samples are moved directly for processing, with tests being ready in a shorter period than they used to take before this laudable breakthrough.
