New George Lopez Comedy Gets Put Pilot Commitment From NBC

George Lopez and his real-life daughter Mayan Lopez are slated to star in a comedy from Universal Television about a “working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection and all the pain and joy in between.”

“Lopez vs. Lopez,” which has a put pilot commitment from NBC, is produced by Mohawk Productions, Travieso Productions, Mi Vida Loba, and 3 Arts.

Debby Wolfe, known for co-executive producing “One Day at a Time” and “The Conners,” is writing and executive producing the project alongside “The Conners” showrunner and “Kevin Can Wait” creator Bruce Helford, who is supervising. George Lopez is also executive producing, with Mayan Lopez on board as a producer. Michael Rotenberg and Katie Newman are non-writing exec producers.
