Following the recent death of George Floyd and the most recent protest retaliation from the black community in America, many troop out to remember the death and commemorate the life George Floyd, CmaTrends report.

His family, friends and a host of guests gathered in Minneapolis for Thursday’s memorial service. Rev. Al Sharpton paid a tribute to the service that took place at North Central University.
This was the first of a few memorial services for Floyd.
Public viewing and private service will take place on Saturday in Raeford, North Carolina. Floyd was born in the North of Carolina.
On Monday, Floyd’s body returns to Houston, where there will be a public memorial and a private service. From a young age, Floyd moved to Houston and called the city home.

Scott Hagan, the president of North Central University, announced the creation of the George Floyd memorial scholarship. He said that he’s already received over $52,000 in contributions. “It is time to invest like never before in a new generation of young black Americans who are poised and ready to take leadership of our nation,” Hagan said. Actor Kevin Hart, left, and rapper Chris “Ludacris” Bridges were among those in attendance. Philonise Floyd speaks at the memorial service for his brother George. He said George had “touched many hearts” and that the audience in Minneapolis was a testament of that. “Everybody wants justice, we want justice for George,” Philonise said. “He’s going to get it. The Rev. Al Sharpton delivers a eulogy. “George Floyd should not be among the deceased,” Sharpton said. “He did not die of common health conditions. He died of a common American criminal-justice malfunction. Everyone stood in silence for eight minutes and 46 seconds -— the length of time that Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged with killing Floyd, had his knee on Floyd’s neck. At the centre here is Floyd’s cousin Shareeduh Tate, who grew up with him and spoke during the service. The service took place inside a sanctuary at North Central University. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey attends the service. He kneeled at Floyd’s casket before the service started, breaking out into tears. People gather outside the service.
