Kelly Clarkson, an American singer, songwriter and author has been ordered to pay her estranged husband, Brandon Blackstock, nearly $200,000 in spousal support.
Last year, Clarkson filed for divorce from her husband of seven years citing irreconcilable differences as her reason. She also asked the court not to make her pay spousal support.
However, on Tuesday, July 27, a temporary court order asked the singer to pay her ex $150,000 per month in spousal support. She’s also to pay the sum of $45,601 per month in child support, bringing the total to $195,601 per month. She’ll have to pay $2.34 million every year.
Clarkson was also ordered to pay $1.25 million towards her ex-husband’s attorney fees for their ongoing divorce.
Kelly, 39, and Brandon, 44, share daughter River Rose Blackstock, 7, and son Remington Alexander Blackstock, 5.

Back in November, Kelly was awarded primary custody of the children. The exes were granted joint legal custody and physical custody, but primary physical custody was given to Clarkson.
“It actually made the most sense for both sides because the kids are in school in Los Angeles and this order was designed to not disrupt the kids routine and to keep them in school. This works for Brandon and Kelly and everyone is fine with it for the sake of the kids. Brandon will be back to L.A. to see the kids.” A source close to the case reported.
Brandon later sought $436,000 in monthly spousal and child support.
