Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, Deputy Engineer Benson Abounu and Finance and Economic Development Commissioner David Olofu did turn out to be negative during the Coronavirus test.
In a statement released by Governor Spokesperson Terver Akase, Ortom, who expressed pleasure in not seeing a new case of Coronavirus in the state, urged other Benue residents to voluntarily take the COVID-19 check.

Governor Ortom also advised citizens of the state to strive to practice personal hygiene by regularly washing their hands with soap, utilizing sanitizers and keeping social isolation in order to prevent the disease.
He said that his administration would not slow down in his push to keep the virus from spreading throughout the state.
Since the outbreak of the disease in the region, Benue has reported only one case of Coronavirus. As of 10:30 p.m. on 3 April, 210 verified cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Nigeria.
