Insecurity: Repentant Bandits Surrender 203 Firearm To Zamfara Govt (Photo)

Not more than 203 firearms have been surrendered to the Zamfara state government by repentant bandits under the state government peace accord.

The state Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, Garba Dauran, made this known to newsmen in Gusau on Thursday, May 27.

According to Dauran, 2,566 live ammunition, 64 magazines, two handcuffs and 887 locally fabricated Dane guns have been surrendered by the bandits since the government peace accord started on February 7.

The Zamfara Government in an attempt to stop bandit attacks in the state launched the peace accord to give room for those bandits who have turned a new leaf to surrender their arms and embrace peace.
