Recently, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) met to decide on some special measures to protect Delhi citizens from rising Covid-19. In the past few days, we have noticed a massive rise in the number of Covid cases. Now Delhi government decides to impose a Weekend Curfew in the city which means Delhi people have to stay at home until it’s essential to go outside. Here are some special guidelines for it that you should know.
In the press conference Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia said that the government going to impose a weekend curfew. The government staff will be on work from home and private offices will be on 50% staff. He told that wearing a mask is now more important for everyone to protect themselves from Covid.
Also, he added that the symptoms of Omicron which is the new variant of Covid are very mild and there is no such extreme dangerous situation right now. Delhi people only need to take measures to protect themselves and follow guidelines given by doctors and the government. If a person gets infected from covid and doesn’t have any symptoms then they can opt for home isolation which is the best method to cure covid.
Delhi Weekend Curfew guidelines

- The weekend curfew will be during a 24hours period Saturday 12 AM to Monday 5 AM
- Metro and Buses will be at full capacity
- Essential services will be available such as food and Medical
- Private offices have to work at 50% staff in Office
- Government employees will be on WFH and work through online mode
- Wearing Mask is necessary and without mask, people are not allowed on public transport
This Weekend Curfew will be imposed on Saturday and Sunday. Currently, the government is following the GRAP plan which colour coded. This Graded Response Action Plan helps the Delhi government to impose required steps if the decided target is reached in the number of covid cases. Currently, the positivity rate is at 6.46 per cent. As per the reports, it is the highest positivity rate since May 2021.
