Ralph Emery’s career, what is his profession?

In the song, Drug Store Truck Drivin’ Man, Emery, Roger McGuinn, and Gram Parsons of the 1960s rock band The Byrds discuss their 1968 visit at The Grand Ole Opry in a rather unpleasant on-air exchange. The Byrds tried unsuccessfully to persuade traditional country music listeners that their burgeoning country-rock sound was a valid part of the genre during that performance.

They were greeted with jeers and catcalls, which may be seen as an indication of growing hostility between rural or working-class (mainly Southern) whites and young counterculture enthusiasts at the time. Emery tried a television comeback in 2001 with a show called Mornings with Ralph Emery on Nashville Fox station WZTV, but the show only lasted seven days when Emery was forced to leave the show due to continued coverage of the September 11 attacks and then an illness. With Charlie Chase as the substitute host, the show was renamed Tennessee Mornings. Emery created The Nashville Show, a free weekly webcast with Shotgun Red as co-host, in October 2005.
