Beyoncé, Blue Ivy & WizKid won Best Music Video for “Brown Skin Girl” at the Premiere Ceremony of the 63rd GRAMMY Awards.
The Best Music Video award is given to the artist, video director and video producer.
Their video bested fellow nominees Future with Drake, Anderson .Paak, Harry Styles, and Woodkid.
Back in June 2020, Blue Ivy also won her first BET award at the 2020 BET Award for “Brown skin girl”.
Brown skin girl is from the 2019 album “The Lion King: The Gift. The music video for “Brown Skin Girl” was featured in Beyoncé’s 2020 film” Black Is King” and was released separately on August 24, 2020. The video acts a celebration and affirmation of the beauty of dark-skinned women.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, won the award alongside Beyonce, who owns the song. This is his first ever Grammys award. A big win for Nigeria as Burna Boy also won “Best Global Music Album”.
The award will also go to Jenn Nkiru who directed the video.
