Gov. Wike Demolishes Hotels For Defying Lockdown Order (Photos)

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, for the purpose of flouting
Lockdown order demolished Prodest (Prudent) Hotel at Alode, Eleme Local State Town.

Onne, for demolition by allegedly violating the order of its government regarding the closure of
the hotels in the state, the Governor had named Prudent Hotel, Alode, Eleme and Etemeteh Hotel.

This was expressed in a declaration by
Paulinus Nsirim, State Commissioner for Information and Communications.
A demolition truck, accompanied with Governor Wike and other officials of the State Task Force of the Rivers, arrived at Prodest Hotel at about 11:30, which eventually destroyed the building.

The Governor of the State of Rivers declared a full lock-down in two of the state’s major cities, Obio-Akpor and Port Harcourt City, to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the state of Rivers. The Governor also shut down interstate frontiers, stores, bars, restaurants and hotels.
