Deputy President has broken silence hours after the ruling Jubilee party announced its preparedness to form a coalition with Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement party in the 2022 general election.

The ruling party through Jubilee Party National Management Committee announced it had given its Secretariat a go-ahead to engage with ODM and probably come up with a working coalition ahead of 2022 polls.

After the press briefing that was convened by the party’s Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, David Murathe, and others, Deputy President William Ruto has indirectly come out and responded. to the same.

The Second in Command rubbished the looming coalition, stating Kenyans should decline to be turned back to ethnic political alliances.

According to DP Ruto, these alliances will hurt the country’s unity and its development agendas, saying they should focus on working towards establishing national political parties founded on firm social and economic principles.

This came at a time the ODM Chief was Nakuru town to solidifying his political base ahead of 2022 where he was accorded a decent reception with Nakuru by Governor Lee Kinyanjui, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth among other Uhuru allied leaders from the Mt. Kenya region.
