SICK claims that Vanessa, the wife of Kobe Bryant, killed herself after the horrific helicopter crash is fake news spread by malicious trolls, say fact checkers.
A YouTube and blog posted video cited a falsified news report saying Vanessa, 37, died after Kobe, 41, and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna died.

Fact checking site Snopes debunked the damaging rumors referenced in a video posted by a user named Ashir Mohamad called “I m so sad right now[ sic]”
The cruel video included a RIP memorial to Vanessa after her husband, daughter, and seven others were killed by the tragic crash in Calabasas.
The fake news story “BBC” also included a brief random clip of Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto and a Celine Dion’s Today Show video.
Snopes reported Kobe’s grieving widow did not take her own life, writing “[ r]umors that circulated in February 2020 about Kobe Bryant’s widow’s death were bogus news.” Their report read: “This was not a genuine news story. It was a hoax intended to capitalize on the recent deaths of the NBA player and the teenage daughter of the family, Gianna.”
The push from this blog site to share the video on Facebook is also not normal practice for the BBC, Snopes concluded.
“It was a hoax designed to capitalize on the recent deaths of the NBA star and the couple’s teenage daughter, Gianna”.
