Justice J.K Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Friday 13 September, 2019 arranged a previous legislative leader of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha and his family not to sell or distance any of the properties that were subject of a between time request of the court pending the finish of examination by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The Court guided the Applicants to, prior to Tuesday, September 17, 2019 removed to an oath of undertaking and dismissed to September 27, 2019 for report.
The judge gave the Consequential Order while abandoning the July 25, 2019 Interim Order, relinquishing five properties possessed by Okorocha and his family to the Federal Government. The properties are: Rochas Foundation College, Owerri, All in 1 Shopping Mall, East High Academy, East High College and Royal Spring Palm Hotel and Apartments.
The Registered Trustees of Rochas Foundation College, All-in Limited, Royal Spring Palm Apartments Limited, Registered Trustees of Women of Divine Destiny Initiative and Uluoma Okorocha Nwosu had tested the request on August 8, through 5 separate movement on notice imploring the Court to empty the interval relinquishment request.
The Commission accordingly recorded Counter Affidavits to the movements of the Applicants on 19 August, 2019.
On 21 August, 2019 when the case came ready for hearing, the Applicants’ educated the court that they were presented with the Commission’s Counter Affidavits and requested a suspension which was conceded by court.
