We are reporting the death of Chuck Hunt, the first-ever husband of Massachusetts. It has been coming forward that Chuck Hunt has passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. He was just 67 at the time of his sudden demise which has undoubtedly left all of his near and dear ones in tears. Chuck died in hospice care at his Berkshire County residence which is situated in Williamstown. Tributes and condolence messages have flooded social media. Netizens are remembering the first-ever husband of the state and are wondering about his cause of death.

Chuck Hunt made history after his wife Jane Swift became acting governor of the state which resulted in Hunt becoming the first husband of Massachusetts. Although Chuck Hunt cause of death has not been made public yet, it is known that he the man was born with Alport syndrome, a genetic condition that is mainly characterized by hearing loss, eye abnormalities and kidney disease. The syndrome causes the loss of kidney functioning while the presence of blood in urine is also a symptom. The disease led Chunk to get a transplant in 2018. Due to the rejection episode that happened last year, Chunk got hospitalized eventually.

The 67-year-old Chuck was a very private person and got recognition when in 1998, his wife was elected lieutenant governor, Chuck’s wife later in 2001 moved into the governor’s office. Later, Governor Paul Cellucci became the US ambassador to Canada. Besides being known as Jane Swift’s husband, Chuck was known for running his construction business. In 2001, the man shared with the Globe that he is an open-space kind of guy. The statement came to the light after his wife became governor. After that, Hunt also became the state’s “stay-at-home father”. Chuck Hunt set aside all his dreams and ambitions and became a full-time dad.

Jane Swift had said that her husband was an amazing father to all his daughters and was a great husband and a person too. She added that Chuck loved farming. Apart from his wife, Chuck Hunt has left behind his beautiful daughters named Lauren, Sarah, and Elizabeth along with his two sisters including Diane Hunt and Sharon Wetteland. For those unversed, he also had a son named Brian from his previous marriage. Unfortunately, Brian died in 2014. The funeral details have been disclosed by the family. It will take place on Sunday from 4 to 7 PM in Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral home located in North Adams.
