Kevin Feige is an American film producer and television producer who has been the president of Marvel Studios and the primary creator and producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise since 2007.
Captain America was one of the main in the Infinity Saga, and it was played by Chris Evans who put his heart and skill in his role.
Evans’ contract was up with Avengers: Endgame, which gave his character the happy ending he had always wanted. This is partly why rumors about his return went viral.
Kevin Feige has however dismissed the rumors.
Evans also took to social media at the same time to say that he wasn’t going to be in the next MCU.
The Marvel Studios boss told Entertainment Weekly: “I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens, but that rumour, I think, was dispelled rather quickly by the man himself.”
This will possibly make a way for a replacement in Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson/The Falcon.
While he’s not returning, the legacy of Chris Evans’ Captain America should be a major subject in the MCU’s next show on Disney+. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will debut this week, and the trailers have made it clear that Steve will be a shadow looming over those title characters.
We’ll just have to see if Sam actually becomes the next Captain America throughout its run.
The next installment in the MCU is Black Widow on May 7th.
