The family of the late Caroline Kangogo has announced that they will not cremate her body as she had indicated on a suicide note that she wrote before she died.

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, during a family gathering at her parents’ home in Nyawa village, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kangogo’s kins stated that they would give her an ordinary Christian send off, arguing that cremation was against the cultures of the Keiyo Community.

Kangogo’s family, however, noted that they would respect all other wishes that the deceased had written down including taking care of her two children.

Kangogo’s family, through their spokesman reiterated that they were sorry to the two families that had lost their loved ones after allegedly being murdered by their daughter.

“We would have wanted to know what happened if she had surrendered,” the family stated.

Before her death, Kangogo had written a suicide note apologising to her parents and children and also made some requests to her family.

“To my parents, I am requesting my body to be cremated to end your suffering. Remember to take good care of my children. For the things in Kasarani, hire movers for safe delivery here.

“To my beloved parents, siblings, children, colleagues, extended family in Ogweno’s family – the officer she allegedly killed in Nakuru County – sorry for letting you down. Please find a place in your heart to forgive me,” part of Kangogo’s suicide note reads.

Kangogo had gone into hiding for a period of two weeks since she allegedly shot and killed a police officer in Nakuru Police Station and a day later, a businessman at a hotel in Juja, Kiambu County.
