Arsenal affected by Covid-19, internship in the United States canceled

Hard blow for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal. The Athletic reveals this Tuesday evening that the Gunners’ pre-season training camp in the United States has simply been canceled due to the appearance of positive cases of Covid-19 within the London club. The media said that only a small part of the Arsenal delegation contracted the coronavirus and that all those affected are asymptomatic. Enough all the same to upset the plans of the staff of the Gunners.

After starting their summer preparation in Scotland, punctuated by two games without a win (1-2 against Hibernian then 2-2 against Glasgow Rangers, reigning Scottish champion), Arsenal was due to take off this Wednesday to cross the Atlantic and be pose in Florida, in Orlando. As part of the Florida Cup (along with Everton and Millonarios), the Gunners were to face Inter Milan on Sunday. Before starting their 2021-2022 Premier League season on Brentford on August 13, Mikel Arteta’s men, who will have to review their plans, will meet Chelsea (August 1) and Tottenham (August 8) in friendly.
