New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been taken into custody. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the American footballer was arrested on Sunday, February 7, 2022, in Las Vegas as he was accused of punching someone at a nightclub several times and injuring him. The incident happened on the eve of the Pro Bowl. Now, video footage is surfacing on the internet which proves the allegations against Kamara. The victim stated that he was leaving the Cromwell Casino on South Las Vegas Blvd on Saturday night when he got into a conversation with one group of people around 6:30 PM. It was that time when the elevator door opened and several people came out. Among them, a man named Kamara pulled him by his chest and pushed him with a force that resulted in him falling to the ground. Soon, the group of people started attacking and kicking the man and it caused him losing his consciousness.
The allegations put by the man on Kamara turned out to be true. Yes, video evidence and the police report verify the man’s story. According to the video surveillance, the victim was seen talking to a woman before the incident happened. Some sources are saying that Kamara put his hands on the man’s chest. The man pushed the footballer’s hands off his chest which resulted in the latter pushing him back hard enough to cause the man to stumble back.
Alvin Kamara continued assaulting the man while his associates also hit him. They stomped the man in the face, legs, and chest. Kamara’s associates went on to stomp him almost 16 times. Later, the police interrogated the player who told them that he was with his assistant, his girlfriend, and a couple of friends. Kamara stated that the man called his friend ugly. When cops asked him why he punched the man, Kamara said that the man was running away so he thought that must have done something wrong so he started hitting him.
However, the video evidence does not show the man running away. The New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara will have to produce before the court on March 8. The 26-year-old was arrested and charged with battery and was booked at the Clark County Detention Center. He was released after getting bail on Sunday night. Besides, the man has sustained an orbital fracture to his right eye along with other injuries.
