Nigerians Mark The Eight-Year Legendary Rashidi Yekini Died

Rashidi Yekini was one of Nigeria’s Most Valued Player (MVP). Yekini, as he was fondly called, was declared a national hero when he scored Nigeria’s first-ever goal (against Bulgaria) in a FIFA World Cup tournament in 1994.

Ever since, he has been one of Nigeria’s quality players on the field nationally and internationally. Rashidi Yekini was born on the 23rd of Oct., 1963 in Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Sadly the talented player died mysteriously on the 4th of May, 2012. However, his name and legacy lives in the hearts of all Nigerians.
