The Chief of Staff of the President, Abba Kyari, is gone. According to sources, Kyari died on Friday, April 17, after facing the novel Coronavirus Disease. Announcing Kyari’s death on Twitter, Garba Shehu, Speaker of the Presidency, wrote: ‘The Presidency regrets the announcement by the Chief of Staff of the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.
“The deceased had been tested positive for ravaging COVID-19 and had sought medication. Yet he died on Friday, April 17, 2020. May God embrace his soul. Funeral arrangements will soon be announced.
Bashir Ahmad, Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, and Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, also confirmed the passing of the former Chief of Staff.
Ahmad tweeted, “Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, has died. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him the highest rank of Jannah. Allah ya jikan sa”.
Adesina on his part, wrote, “Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, passes on. May God rest his soul. Amen. Funeral arrangements to be announced soon”.
