Tammy Abraham Shares What He And His England Teammates Are Going To Do If They’re Racially Abused by Fans.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has confirmed that he and his English teammates are willing to get off the pitch if they are threatened by racism in their Euro 2020 qualifying this week.

The Three Lions will face the Czech Republic on Friday, followed by Bulgaria in a partially closed stadium on Monday, owing to the racist behavior of supporters in June.

“If it happens to one of us, it happens to all of us,” Abraham said ahead of the Euro2020 qualifying.

“Harry Kane[ England captain] even said that if we’re not happy, if a player isn’t happy, we’re all going out of the pitch together.”

After racist behavior by Bulgarian fans during their games against the Czech Republic and Kosovo in June, Uefa ordered the partial closing of the Bulgarian national stadium.

Abraham said that the players had agreed that they would take matters into their own hands if necessary.

UEFA’s three-step racial abuse procedure ends with officials leaving the match if announcements inside the stadium do not stop the problem.

“We talked about[ the protocol],” Abraham said.

“Harry Kane asked the question, instead of going through the three steps, when we agree that we want to stop the game–no matter what the score is–if we’re not satisfied with it, as a team, we’re going to decide whether or not to stay on the pitch.

“If it happens and let’s say there’s an alert or anything in the arena, then it’s going to happen again, we have to make a decision as a group and with the workers.”
